Description

MercyFirst is currently looking for a Program Coordinator for our East Massapequa Group Home. 
 
  • Masters in Social Work or related field.
  • Must have and maintain a valid NYS driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Knowledge and training in working with children/adolescents and families.
  • Two years supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work with children and adults using good interpersonal skills.
  • Must have good organizational, written, verbal, communication, and computer skills.
  • Ability to monitor and write clear and accurate agency documentation.
  • Ability to de-escalate emotional or physical outbursts through the use over therapeutic intervention.
  • Must be cleared through the State Central Registry.

 

Responsibilities Include:
  • The Program Coordinator is responsible for the operation of the living unit.
  • Applies Agency approved methods of behavior modification, including the point system and verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Shifts assigned may vary and change according to Agency needs.
  • Adhering to and implementing agency policy and procedures
  • Maintaining compliance with OCFS regulations
  • Assisting in role modeling the 7 Sanctuary Commitments and support an environment conducive to staff development in the Sanctuary Model.
  • Keeping appropriate staff informed of relevant information including psychiatric and psychological histories and variables.
  • Assisting treatment team in developing and maintaining a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment for residents.
  • Providing supervision to the Youth Support Counselors and Program Tutor.
  • Maintaining appropriate case records and inputting information in JDAS online system.
