MercyFirst is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Accounting Manager!
(Based in our Syosset Office)
 

EDUCATION, LICENSURE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance field. Must have and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of 5 years related experience including in a supervisory role. Strong interpersonal skills both internally and externally. Excellent organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Financial Edge is a plus.

 

BRIEF SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under the supervision of the Director of Accounting Operations, the Accounts Payable Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable department and utilizing best-practices to ensure the accurate, timely processing and reporting of payables. In addition, the Accounts Payable Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting with the month end close, including recording journal entries and maintaining account analysis and schedules.

STARTING SALARY: $70,000.00

Brief outline of essential tasks:

 

  • Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process including month end and year-end reporting and audit support.
  • Oversee, train, develop, evaluate, and provide guidance to assigned staff.
  • Mange escalated issues with vendors and internal company personnel with tact and diplomacy.
  • Monitor AP to ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Responsible for issuing 1099 forms to vendors at calendar year end.
  • Participates in the month-end closing including recording of monthly journal entries and maintaining schedules for fixed assets, prepaid, and accrued accounts payable expenses.
  • Reconcile A/P sub-ledger to general ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Manage and maintain agreements and contracts with outside vendors.
  • Provide support to Directors and CFO as needed.
  • Assists with other accounting duties including, but not limited to, audits, special projects, and software implementation.
