MercyFirst is currently seeking a Bilingual Spanish Caseworker in our Syosset location!

The children in our program are in the U.S. as unaccompanied minors. Many have fled dangerous and violent situationsin their own home countries. Many of our unaccompanied minors have suffered devastating loss through trauma, violence, abandonment, poverty, substance abuses, or abuse. The children’s safety, nutritional, medical,emotional health and education are priorities. At the center of these services are our Caseworkers!

Caseworkers provide coordinated services between our children and the individuals who are sponsoring them to stay in the U.S. Caseworkers screen sponsors for human trafficking concerns.  We want our kids to be safe! Caseworkers maintain contact with the Office of Refugee and Resettlement on incident managements, children's status, family contact, etc. and prepare the documentation necessary for a safe discharge to the sponsor family. Prepare clear and accurate progress notes, needs assessments, individual service plans and discharge documentation. 

A related Bachelor Degree is required (social work, psychology, etc.).  Our children are new to the U.S. and generally speak little or no English, therefore all Caseworkers MUST be bilingual in Spanish and English.  

Salary $44K with excellent benefits of medical, dental, life, vision with 4 weeks of paid vacation, 12 paid holidays, 4 paid personal days, and increasing sick leave with longevity.
