Who We Are: Founded as an orphanage in 1894 by the Sisters of Mercy, MercyFirst today offers an integrated continuum of care for children in need, from birth through adolescence, including children who have been abused and neglected; youth with serious emotional problems; teenagers and young adults who are without family; and families coping with the stress and pressures of poverty, domestic violence, mental illness, and substance abuse.

We are currently seeking a Program Manager for our (Pollak) Syosset Campus location. 

EDUCATION, LICENSURE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in related field plus 2 years experience in youth work or with high school diploma related field plus 5 years in Residential Care. Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: With Bachelor’s Degree, 2 years’ experience in youth work required. With high school diploma 5 years in Residential Care required.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF POSITION:   The Program Manager is responsible for the operation of the living unit. Supervises and provides a safe and secure environment and applies Agency approved methods of behavior modification, including the point system, verbal de-escalation techniques and physical intervention, if needed.  Shifts assigned may vary and change according to Agency needs.
