AGENCY BACKGROUND:
MercyFirst is a not-for-profit human and social service agency that has been serving children and families in need since we were founded by the Sisters of Mercy/Hermanas de las Misericordia in 1894. Today our agency continues to address the emotional and physical needs of children and families in Brooklyn, Queens and across Long Island through innovative treatments and life-changing interventions. We provide community-based prevention and family foster care services, group homes in the community for struggling children and families within the child welfare and juvenile justice systems, and short-term residential services for unaccompanied migrant children. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Three years of providing clinical supervisory experience, experience with conducting /overseeing research and statistical analysis of data. Must have experience in working with at risk youth. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and SPSS software. Experience in the child welfare field preferred.
EDUCATION, LICENSURE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), plus a valid NYS Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of Chief Program Officer, the VP of Behavioral Health and Research Services will ensure that the Agency is in full compliance with all regulatory and funding sources.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides direct supervision to the Clinical Directors, Supervisor of Foster Care Clinical Services, and oversees the Treatment and Support and Home and Community Based Services.
- Clinical supervision of Behavioral Health staff according to the scope of practice and incompliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations to include NYSED where applicable.
- Reviews and Approves Placement and Treatment recommendations.
- Provides quality oversight of assigned programs and drives program development initiatives with assigned programs.
- Ongoing consultation and training of staff to improve the delivery of services and outcomes.
- Provides emergency and after-hours behavioral health consultation.
- Ensure required documentation for all case actions (clinical notes) are completed within established timeframes.
- Respond to emergencies as needed and/or directed.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients and staff.
- As a Member of the Management Team, advises MercyFirst Administrative staff on the emerging and chronic behavioral health needs of the youth in care and makes recommendations for the expansion of Evidence-Based Treatment models.
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate all assigned staff.
- Ensures the development of quality programming and ensures that all living and surrounding areas meet or exceed an acceptable level of safety and therapeutic environment.
- Attend to budgetary processes.
- Maintain program statistics and prepare reports.

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $110,000 (35 hours/week)
Hiring bonus of $1,000 after 500 worked hours
