EDUCATION, LICENSURE, Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field. Must maintain a valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1+ years work related experience with the knowledge and training in working with children and families including child development stages and family dynamics.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF POSITION: The caseworker will provide the clients and their families/primary resource persons with intensive casework and all services offered by the Agency and/or community.

Brief outline of essential tasks:

  • Writing clear and accurate progress notes, FASPs and psychosocial evaluations.
  • Providing and maintaining contact with referring agencies such as, OCFS, SSS and DSS regarding incident management and any changes in residents’ status.
  • Arranging casework contacts with residents on a weekly basis.
  • Representing the agency professionally in court and responding to emergency situations including coordinating hospitalizations.
  • Actively participating in supervisory meetings, staff meetings and team unit meetings.
  • Establishing a cooperative and professional relationship with treatment teams, clients and other agencies.
  • Gathering and maintaining school information and independent living skills material on each resident.
  • Arranging, preparing and completing all discharge services needed for the resident and family to ensure a positive transition back into the community.
  • Maintaining consistent contact with birth parents and primary resources through telephone contact, letters and home/agency visits.
  • Coordinating and maintaining scheduling of the children/families weekly home visit list.
